Hi, I'm Rachel.  I've been involved in LandSAR for 4 years, first in Wellington and then in Palmerston North.  

I decided to train a search dog while I was at university, and ended up with my malinois Fledge, the "malligator".  Fledge is the first dog I've trained for SAR, and having her has been a real learning curve.  She can still be a bit of a handful at times, but it's a privilege to work such a talented and enthusiastic dog.

In my everyday life, I'm a veterinarian at Maidstone Veterinary Clinic in Upper Hutt, where I treat everything from cattle to chihuahuas.
